VDV Import is a specialised importer of fresh flowers and greenery. Several times a week, products from Colombia, Ecuador, South Africa, Israel and Sri Lanka arrive at Schiphol Airport. From our logistics centre in Honselersdijk, we unpack, split and consolidate orders to your requirements, ready for delivery across Europe.
Looking for a fixed selection every week or more flexibility? With weekly standing orders and open market offers, we give you both. Together with our growers, we offer a wide range of flowers and greenery throughout the year.
We source our flowers and greenery from five countries, each with its own growing conditions and specialities. Together, they give you year-round access to a wide range of products, sourced where they grow at their best.
Our colleagues in Colombia and Ecuador are our eyes and ears on the ground. They work directly with local growers, logistics providers and quality inspectors and know what is happening at the source. Of course, you can communicate with them directly too.
We increasingly work with growers who invest in sustainable certification. We also aim to minimise waste throughout the chain. By buying directly from growers and importing only what our customers have ordered, we avoid unnecessary stock and reduce waste.
When it comes to flower import, volume matters. It allows us to use reliable airlines, with at least four flights a week on our main routes. This helps us keep deliveries moving and our prices competitive.
Independent quality checks take place at the source, followed by another inspection when the products arrive at our warehouse. The quality of the flowers and greenery, but also the stem counts, lengths, packaging and other order specifications: it all has to be right.
